Our Missionary Venture in Bolivia - 1993-2005

We joined United World Mission in 1993 to assist in bringing the Gospel to unreached people. After a year of training, a year of support raising, and a year of Spanish language study near the Mexican border in Texas, we finally arrived in Bolivia in January 1996. We weren't on our own - we were part of a team effort to bring good news to the Quechua people, highland Indians who are descendants of the Incas. You can read more about these people here.

Over the subsequent seven years we had many interesting adventures and not-so-nice misadventures. You can follow some of these events by reading through our newsletters that we published while there (click on newsletter links at left). We were part of a great team of missionaries with whom we shared the work and the vision. We also worked closely with the greater missionary community and Christian nationals and trust that we stimulated even further interaction and mutual sharing of the task among those groups.

As of June 30, 2005 we officially are no longer UWM missionaries. It's with mixed feelings that we move on to the next chapter of our lives, but look to God to lead us into whatever new adventures He'd have us undertake. We're very grateful to all of the hundreds of people who backed us up by their prayers and financial gifts, without which we'd not have been able to embark on our venture in Bolivia.

At the left are some links that lead to various news, photos, and info pages that document a bit of our life and ministry in Bolivia. May God use it to stimulate others to take on the unfinished task there. He is due all the honor, glory and praise for any good accomplished through our lives. We're humbled and greatly honored that he calls us His friends and co-workers.
